Back to Basics

I’m a big believer in basics: white t-shirts, white Converse, chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, pepperoni pizza…etc. When “basic” is done well, you really don’t need much else.

Yesterday was a very long day, and I was trying to figure dinner out. I was thinking pizza, and a girl I work with said I absolutely had to get one from Maker. I’m glad I listened because about an hour later, I was sitting on my bed with a massive pepperoni pizza (I added roasted garlic and roasted red peppers) all to myself. It was one of the best pizzas I’d ever had. This was basic done very, very well. The crust was perfectly blistered and charred, the pepperoni was salty and crispy, and the garlic and peppers were perfectly sweet.

For dessert, chocolate cake from Loblaw’s refrigerated section. And then I slept really well that night.
