Anyone who knows me knows I do not like salad. I don’t care if it’s a spinach, radicchio, kale, arugula, or endive salad – they are all equally unappealing to me. That said, there are three that I can tolerate (and might even love):
- Panzanella Salad: little grape or cherry tomatoes are my favourite, and with chunks of bread soaking up a garlicky, citrusy or white balsamic dressing, it’s heaven. And not that reminiscent of a salad.
- The Twisted Apron’s Quinoa Salad (with crispy chicken or tofu): I like quinoa and crispy anything, it’s served with avocado, and afterward, you can get salted caramel pudding for dessert.
- Thai Green Papaya Salad: sweet, salty, and citrusy – all my favourite flavours in one refreshing dish. I also love anything that’s got crushed peanuts and red chilies on it.
Leafy greens are best left for smoothies and cold-pressed juice, anyway.
