Blueberries for Days


My mom and dad both decided to buy blueberries, forgetting that in our family the blueberry is nobody’s favourite: last year, our pre-ordered 5 lbs from Harvest Union was a total waste (except for the bit that I froze for smoothies and used for scones). Twelve months later, nothing has changed so I’m really not sure where this idea to each buy boxes of blueberries came from. We have blueberries for days.

I’ve just put a bunch into the freezer for smoothies, my mom is promising that she’ll eat a bunch at breakfast, my dad is sticking to his usual excuse: “I thought you liked them”, and as per usual, my brother is nowhere to be found.

I don’t know how much longer I can stand not yanking the fridge open for fear that a box of blueberries will topple out, so I’ve decided to bake. Today’s blueberry dessert: Mimi Thorisson’s clafoutis, with blueberries instead of cherries.

  1. I don’t like them much either, but I throw ten in my plain breakfast cornflakes every day, together with the nuts. So yup got my antioxidants and they disappear from the fridge on schedule 😛

      Ohh that’s a good way to use them up! I wish I liked them more haha, all those antioxidants, like you said, so good for you!
