Spring’s on its way


I took Stella to The Bone & Bowl this morning, where golden doodle Archie was simultaneously parading his new toy and trying to keep it out of everyone’s reach, and where we picked up a little red polka-dotted raincoat perfect for spring. Because Stella is built the way she is, some minor alterations need to be made, so until then, you’ll just have to trust me that she’s adorable in it!


Afterward, we went to Beaucoup Bakery & Café for lunch for one of their fantastic sandwiches. Today, I had the croissant sandwich, which features avocado, pear, black radish, lemon marinated onions, endive, and micro watercress. I’m used to vegetarian sandwiches that are stuffed with roasted veggies, so this was a refreshing and well thought out alternative – light, yet flavourful. All the ingredients worked well together, from the bitter endive to the lightly sweet pear, the creamy avocado and peppery radish.
