There’s something about getting ice cream on Friday nights that makes me so happy. When Stella was still around, Friday evenings were often spent either at Rocky Point or at Steveston, where we would grab ice cream (double chocolate raspberry at Rocky Point, vanilla bean gelato at Steveston) after she was done running along the beach.

Tonight, we paid 720 Sweets a visit – I tried a Cloud 9 and my brother had a matcha ice cream sandwich (plus 3 more for the road). I just had to try the Cloud 9 – it was like a My Little Pony in ice cream form: pale blue cereal milk flavoured ice cream, topped with rainbow popcorn and a giant cloud of cotton candy. It was so whimsical and pretty, I almost didn’t want to eat it.

My sweet, sweet girl would have loved to try the Cloud 9.
