I love charcuterie boards because they are essentially a legitimate excuse to order several different things without looking like a glutton (I love tapas for the same reason – I could eat patatas bravas and octopus for days).

So when I get to basically have three different versions of bacon on one board with a block of Grana Padano and a stack of charred bread, I’m in heaven.

At Bier Markt a few weekends ago, I had just that and more: candied bacon, Venetian coppa, and a Calabrese version, followed by a flourless chocolate cake with Lindt chocolate ice cream.
