Stopping by Beaucoup Bakery & Café on a rainy Sunday has become somewhat of a routine for us, particularly after a morning at the Kits dog beach. We always plan on getting a couple things, but inevitably end up with a boxful of almond croissants, kouign amann and cheddar & green onion scones. Any self-control I’ve mustered up on my way to the bakery quickly dissipates once I’m standing at the counter.

Earlier today we stopped by, and while the bakery looked and smelled as delicious as always, there was something different about it. I still picked up three kouign amann – one for me, one for my mom – but quickly realized that there wouldn’t be a small brindle Frenchie waiting for the third. I miss that girl and her sweet tooth.
