Last summer, I was obsessed with ice cream sandwiches. This summer, it’s all about brownies. My favourite brownies (ever) are from Fat Witch Bakery, and I regularly have them overnighted to my aunt and uncle’s in Oregon so they are ready for me to devour when we make the drive down. The first time I ever tried a Fat Witch, I thought my favourite was going to be the Blonde Witch which is basically a chocolate chip cookie in brownie form (because I used to eat something similar when I was a kid). It was so not my favourite. Unlike the chocolate-chip-cookie-brownie bar my mom used to buy me as a child – which was moist and chewy and marshmallowy – this one was dry. So instead, my favourites ended up being the original Fat Witch and the Snow Witch (white chocolate brownie). Fat Witches will probably always be my favourite, but I’ve decided it’s time to find a Vancouver brownie to fill the number two spot.
