It’s my brother’s birthday today, and for the first time ever, I’m not celebrating with the rest of my family. Instead, I’m sitting in my dorm room, having just endured a stressful morning at the bookstore (followed by 2 taquitos and a grape Slurpee), typing this out and wishing I was with my family enjoying our bad-Chinese-take-out birthday tradition…in a house where the air-conditioning is working perfectly. This makes me sad. But I do take comfort in the fact that in about a month, I’ll be flying home for Thanksgiving. I knew I wouldn’t make it ‘til Christmas without seeing my family and my little bug.
No pictures of a yummy birthday cake, but here are some pictures of the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit River and skyline. My morning and evening walks are actually quite pretty. Enjoy!
