Two Weeks ’til the Farmers Market


On Wednesday, I took a Health Day because my brain, quite simply, needed a break from life. My mom, Stella, and I spent the morning at Trout Lake, where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, the sun was shining brightly, and puppies of all sizes were out to play. It was clearly too beautiful a day to be wasted at the office.


As we were nearing parking lot by the north end of the lake, my mom said, “Soon we won’t be able to park there because of the farmers market,” and she was right. The market at Trout Lake, my particular favourite, will start back up in about two weeks, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s one of the best things about the spring/summer (and early fall).

I’m most excited for:

  1. Sundried tomato pesto
  2. Earnest Ice Cream sandwiches
  3. Artichokes
  4. Raspberries
  5. Heirloom tomatoes
  6. Crepes from La Bohème
