Spring officially started a few days ago, and today is a beautiful affirmation: the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and the crocuses are out of hiding. Too bad it’s freezing. Stella and I had still had a great walk with my mom at Trout Lake early this morning though, and afterward, we stopped at Beta5 Chocolates and Black Rook Bakehouse to pick up some pastries and cakes to share.
The creampuffs at Beta5 are my latest obsession, particularly white-chocolate-orange. Their fantastic choux puffs are filled with a white chocolate crème as well as an orange jam. And they’ve also got this amazing double-baked almond croissant topped with a yuzu glaze. Heaven.
