My best meal in Toronto thus far has been daeji bulgogi at a teeny, tiny Korean restaurant on Bloor St. called Yummy Korean Restaurant. It was yummy, indeed. Daeji bulgogi is my favourite Korean dish – thinly sliced pork marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce – served sizzling on a hot plate, alongside rice, kimchi, soybean sprouts, gamja jorim, and pajeon. I could eat this for days.
There was not an empty table in sight when we walked in, and I knew we were in the right place. I’m already planning my next meal at Yummy Korean Restaurant.
And of course, we couldn’t head home without a picking up a few things at the little stationery store across the street.
