The shortest day of the year in Vancouver also happened to be snowy and one of the coldest, and I could think of no better way to warm up than with black ramen at Jinya downtown.
I’ve missed frosty morning walks with the pup – solo early morning runs by the Detroit river just don’t cut it. Stella and I walked along the seawall and when we got to David Lam park, she whined until I let her play off-leash with the other puppies. Within minutes, I was regretting my decision to wear Uggs. And my decision to let her off-leash.
Afterward, I was beyond happy to sit down at Jinya for gyoza, karaage and big steaming bowls of black ramen with my brother and parents. I just die for the hot soup with a cold golden egg. So good.
