Screamers are my latest obsession. A genius combination of vanilla soft-serve and a slushy of your choice, they embody everything good in a creamsicle, minus the sticky drippy mess that ensues when it’s a warm day and you don’t eat it up fast enough.
I can’t believe I just discovered this. My mom and I had some today, and she revealed to me that she’d known about the screamer since she was in college. She insists however, that the version she had in college was better. As undergrads at BYU in Hawaii, she and my aunt would grab shave ice topped with ice cream almost everyday after class. I have to admit that does sound better (given what I know about Hawaiian shave ice), but since flying over to Oahu is not really feasible at the moment, my screamer will have to do.
